Carterville Church Raises Money for Austin Wade Foundation

CARTERVILLE -- The Carterville community is remembering a boy who passed away a year ago and is raising money to help others in his memory. Carterville Church of the Holy Spirit hosted its fourth annual chili dinner. The church is donating half its profits to the Austin Wade Foundation, just like it did last year.

Austin suffered from a brain tumor and died last February at 11-years-old. His family and friends want to help other local families who have children with cancer.

"Part of our parish and just being Christian, is to help other people. And putting this on, we're doing that as a community," explains church member Denise Luetchka.

If you couldn't make it to the chili dinner but would like to donate, you can do so at the Old National Bank in Carterville, Marion, or Carbondale.
