Seven San Bernardino County teams earned top-four seeds in their respective divisions as the CIF-SS football playoffs were released on Sunday and another three got in as at-large entries into the playoffs. Arroyo Valley coach Tony DiThomas was elated his team is back in the playoffs in his first year back with the program. The Hawks play at No. 3-seeded Serrano in the Eastern Division first round Friday. For Jurupa Hills coach Ed McMillon, he has guided the Spartans to the playoffs for the first time in school history and Jurupa Hills will play at No. 4 seed Fillmore in the East Valley Division first round. It is also his first time in the playoffs as a head coach, having previously coached at La Puente. In a selection that surprised many, Silverado got the final at-large berth over Apple Valley in the Eastern Division. There really weren't any surprises in terms of which county teams were seeded. Upland (No. 3 in Inland Division), Summit (No. 1 Central), Kaiser (No. 3 Central), Carter (No. 2 Eastern), Serrano (No. 3 Eastern), Oak Hills (No. 4 Eastern) and Ontario Christian (No. 1 East Valley) all got the seeds they expected to. There are a few all-county matchups in the first round: Redlands at Chino Hills in the Inland Division, Barstow at Oak Hills and Arroyo Valley at Serrano in the Eastern Division, and Yucca Valley at Citrus Valley and Rim of the World at Twentynine Palms in the East Valley.
